In order to brew a perfect cup of tea which is neither too light, nor too strong, the timing of the brew plays a crucial role. Premium whole leaf teas are sensitive to time. Brew it too short, and the leaves won’t fully open. Brew it too long, and the delicate notes may turn bitter.
At Kaahu, we believe that most teas are perfectly brewed in 3 minutes. Hence, we recommend this 3-minutes sand timer as an essential part of your tea ritual and for a balanced, smooth, and aromatic cup every single time. Of course, you can always brew your tea a little shorter or longer depending on your taste preference.
A sand timer is a simple, timeless tool that measures time through the gentle fall of sand from one chamber to another. As the fine sand falls in silence, it marks not just minutes, but a mindful pause before your first sip. No alarms. No distractions. Just the quiet flow of time as your tea gently infuses.
Our tea leaves are premium quality and the same leaves can be steeped/used up to three times. For each subsequent brew, we recommend adding an extra minute. Steep the second infusion for 4 minutes, and the third for 5 minutes. With each steep, the leaves unfold a new layer of flavour - gentle, nuanced, and beautifully evolving.
