The Story behind Kaahu
Tea is one of the most celebrated beverages across the world. Many countries are home to some of the finest teas – each so unique in their flavor, texture and profile. From the misty hills of Darjeeling, to the lush lowlands of Assam, the highlands of Taiwan, the valleys of Sri Lanka to the gardens of Japan, every cup of tea is distinct.
In our search for a place that offers a curated selection of world’s finest teas, we found a gap. No single destination truly celebrated the diversity and quality of global tea. And that led to the foundation for building Kaahu – a brand that will bring you the finest teas from the world, starting with our own roots in India.
WHAT IS KAAHU?
Kaahu in Hawaiian language means “guardian” or “protector” — someone entrusted with the safekeeping of something precious. For us, that treasure is tea.
Our Kaahus are the women, who for generations have dedicatedly hand-plucked the tender two leaves and a bud that become your perfect cup of tea. They are the heart of our craft, the hands behind every harvest and the soul behind every sip.
